Maintenance Assistant 955/ParkingPublic Works$15.00/hr The City of Columbias Public Works department is hiring for a Maintenance Assistant. This position will perform manual and some semi-skilled work in the care and maintenance of assigned City equipment, facilities and grounds. Clean and make minor repairs to walls, windows, doors, and floors. Straighten up work areas and move furniture, materials, and supplies. Pick up trash, run sweeper, clean shelters, clean restrooms, clean elevators, and clean stairs. Applicant must have a High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two years of experience in general building and grounds maintenance and repair work. Positions assigned to the airport must successfully complete an annual TSA background check. Some knowledge of semi-skilled building and grounds maintenance and repair practices and procedures. Some knowledge of standard hand and power tools and equipment used in facilities and grounds maintenance activities. Some knowledge of safety standards and precautions pertaining to the use of tools, chemicals, and heavy physical labor. Must maintain a valid drivers license.
