Summary You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Assistant Commander (ACOM) for Supply Chain Management Policy and Performance, with duty station Washington Navy Yard, as a Liaison Officer (LNO) between NAVSUP and the Program Executive Officer (PEO) Attack Submarines or Strategic Submarines. Responsibilities You will provide input to and coordination for the development, oversight and promulgation of processes and policies that can be used Navy wide to foster best practices and efficient approaches to acquisition logistics. You will provide program managers with an overview of Navy priorities, which facilitates the decision process in developing responses to requests for Program Objectives Memorandum (POM) submits. You will serve as an expert advisor to NAVSEA Program Managers in support of their efforts to establish and ultimately execute their ILS Plans and life cycle support concepts. You will develop/implement innovative logistics solutions that integrate support for weapons systems, combat systems and platforms, including in-service and new ship construction. You will serve as a Program Office integrator for all logistics elements and that will enable each Program Manager to accommodate the full range of logistics support requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying an expert knowledge and understanding of all of the ILS elements which include Product Support Management, Sustaining Engineering Maintenance Planning, Manpower & Personnel, Supply Support, Tech Data, Support & Test Equipment, Training & Training Support, Computer Resources Support, Design Interface, Facilities and/or Infrastructure, Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation in order to ensure alignment and standardization of effective life-cycle sustainment policies, processes, and tools for an organization. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Influencing system design to provide timely, affordable, effective, and best-value product support throughout the system life cycle.; 2) Promoting product supportability during the acquisition and sustainment phases of the system life cycle to optimize system readiness & life cycle cost affordability via outcome-based product support strategies; 3) Supporting logistics planning and maintaining management processes to assist with the acquisition and fielding of commodities, combat systems and ship platforms, including in-service and new ship construction programs; 4) Applying a significant level of knowledge in Acquisition Logistics policy, guidance, principles and practices and is able to use the knowledge in support of large scale acquisitions including combat systems, ship platforms and individual weapons systems programs..
