Overview
FTI will provide Aircraft Systems Engineering support for analyzing requirements management, configuration management, risk management, service catalog, interface management, integration management, model-based systems engineering, and associated systems engineering governance.
Responsibilities
This tasking will comprise:
Supporting established systems engineering and software engineering processes
Planning and completing infrastructure and design engineering documentation and implementation
Analyzing and assessing technical documents
Studying and recommending the use and application of modern software tools supporting engineering development
Analyzing and making recommendations to the government in specialized work areas (Aircraft Structures and Environmental Control Systems) with focus on the following eight technical management processes:
Decision analysis
Technical planning
Technical assessment
Requirements management
Risk management
Configuration management
Technical data management
Interface management
Utilize established engineering principles in the design, fabrication, evaluation, and installation of structures and environmental control systems of aircraft
Design components, create integration plans, and lead efforts to upgrade/modernize aircrafts, including flight surfaces, structures, and avionics
May be involved in broader system-level design at higher levels. Utilize knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing to ensure final design is properly executed in the creation of aerospace components
Plan, coordinate, and direct processes and procedures to safety check aerospace systems and structures
Determine, track, and oversee maintenance and upgrades to aircraft to validate flight safety. Create, read, and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics
Education/Qualifications
Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
Master's degree in Engineering strongly preferred
8+ years actively working as an Aircraft Systems or Systems Engineer
