Marine Electrician I - Kapolei, HI

As the, Marine Electrician I , you will work on a team supporting cabling, equipment, and C5ISR system installations. You will join, fabricate, and assemble various electromechanical and electronic assemblies by applying appropriate safety techniques and the work is performed onboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations.

You will play a critical role in ensuring that successful and safe work is performed onboard U.S. Naval Ships and our Military installations which is vital to our Mission to protect and serve our Military.

As the, Marine Electrician I, you will perform the following typical tasks:

  • Perform simple routine tasks under close supervision or from detailed procedures and your will work will be checked in progress or on completion.

  • Perform one or a combination of such typical duties as assembles or installs equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting. Performs simple or routine tasks or tests such as tensile or hardness tests; operates and adjusts simple test equipment; records test data.

  • Gathers and maintains specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.; performs computations by substituting numbers in specified formulas; plots data and draws simple curves and graphs.

  • Rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and you will typically report to a supervisor in a safe work environment

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have the following:

  • Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years of AIT Installation experience

  • Have an OSHA 10 certification or able to obtain the certification

  • Must be able to have the ability to work in areas with drafts, noise, and temperature variation.

  • Must be able to work in high heat spaces, climb shipyard dry dock stairs/ladders, work in kneeling position for layout of cable runs under false decking, lift up to 50 pounds with 80% of work requiring carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 40 pounds for majority of shift while being in a standing, crouching, or walking position. Attention to safety critical.

  • Applicant must be familiar with NAVSEA, standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of electrical repair, fabrication, and installation.

  • Applicant must be able to get respirator qualified and wear proper PPE throughout their work shift.

  • Applicant must be willing to work second shift and willing to work more than 40 hours work weeks.

  • Ability to travel if necessary

  • This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require Serco to staff it only with U.S. Citizens, be able to obtain gain access to shipyards (NAVSTA & DBIDS), undergo a background investigation and pass a drug screening.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
