Summary You will serve as a Supervisory General Supply Specialist in the Consolidated Hazardous Material Management Program of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE. Responsibilities You will develop and implement policies related to all Hazardous Material programs. You will oversee supply and hazardous material management to ensure compliance of government policy and regulations. You will identify and arrange trainings as needed for employees. You will implement standard operating procedures and instructions. You will evaluate effectiveness of procedures and identify areas of improvement. You will remove damaged or expired hazardous material from storage areas immediately. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying a knowledge of Supply system policies, programs, procedures, and regulations involving receipt, transfer, storage, transportation, and handling of hazardous material and hazardous waste. You have experience assisting in the evaluation and development of Hazardous Material programs to increase productivity, effectiveness and efficiency. You have experience providing guidance to subordinates and reviewing work to be accomplished. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Assist in the development and implementation of measures to reduce or eliminate production issues; 2) Provide procedural guidance to supply and material management personnel involving the receipt, issue, storage delivery, accounting, reutilization and disposal of hazardous material; 3) Review and validate various automated and/or manual systems and analyze for discrepancies ; and 4) Ensures standard operating procedures and instructions are followed. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.
