Your Impact
Conduct electrical engineering and design work for a range of facilities, including transit, industrial, and commercial structures like metro stations, bus stations, garages, and more.
Prepare comprehensive design criteria documents, calculations, drawings, and specifications for various electrical systems, such as power distribution, standby power, lighting, communications, fire alarm, security, and specialized systems.
Travel to customer facilities to conduct surveys while representing the company in a professional manner
Evaluate existing facility electrical systems and provide independent, data-driven technical recommendations to management team and clients through effective verbal and written communication.
Perform feasibility studies related to microgrid and Distributed Energy Resource (DER) implementations to support sustainability and resilience.
Develop designs for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
Develop engineer's cost estimates for electrical systems.
Act as the engineer-of-record for design documents and reports covering electrical systems.
Conduct site surveys and provide support during construction activities.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
7 to 10 years of relevant post education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for capital projects in power generation, transmission, and distribution at a utility, industrial, or commercial scale.
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, or Microstation, as well as a strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
Must demonstrate expertise in the application of the National Electrical Code.
A broad range of experience, including facility surveys, reports, feasibility studies, design, specifications, cost estimating, construction support, and supervision of less experienced engineers, designers, and technicians. This should encompass various facility categories, such as vehicular and rail tunnels, telecommunications, transit, aviation, industrial, commercial, educational, healthcare, or governmental facilities.
A Professional Engineering (P.E.) license with eligibility for reciprocity in other states is preferred.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
