Summary You will serve as a Transportation Assistant (Call Center) in the Navy Household Goods( HHG) Personal Property Shipping Office (PPSO) of NAVSUP FLC NORVA GF. Responsibilities At the GS-06 you will perform developmental duties as assigned. At the GS-07 you will perform the following duties: You will act as a single point of contact for customers who use phone and electronic media to seek technical transportation support, information, and other Navy Household Goods products and services. You will receive, analyze, and provide technical transportation support, information, and services to customers as they attempt to move, store, and receive household goods, professional gear, express shipments, and unaccompanied baggage, etc. You will interpret members' entitlements, Joint Travel Regulations, Personal Property Shipping Policies and Instructions, Code of Federal Regulations, and other Joint and Federal directives or policies as required. You will research, compile, and evaluate data to identify patterns, casual factors and failures and determine solutions. You will use a variety of communication, negotiating and interviewing techniques to listen, understand, explain and resolve complex processes and procedures. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector using knowledge of traffic management and transportation principles and methodology as they relate to management of personal property and household goods. Examples of specialized experience includes some or all of the following: 1) Assisting in counseling property owners/customer regarding inbound and outbound shipments, non-temporary and temporary storage, and/or procedures for processing loss and damage claims; 2) Planning, managing, and/or reviewing personal workloads; 3) Communicating with peers, customers, industry and/or other services within prescribed guidelines; 4) Assisting in intervening on behalf of customers with private and/or public sector transporters. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service, or equivalent experience in the private or public sector using knowledge of traffic management and transportation principles and methodology as they relate to management of personal property and household goods, as well as privately owned automobiles, boats, and mobile homes. Examples of specialized experience include most or all of the following: 1) Counseling property owners/customer regarding inbound and outbound shipments, non-temporary and temporary storage, and procedures for processing loss and damage claims; 2) Planning, managing, and reviewing personal workloads; 3) Assisting in making clear and comprehensive presentations and briefs, both orally and in writing; 4) Communicating with peers, customers, industry and other services using tact and patience; 5) Intervening on behalf of customers with private and/or public sector transporters.
