We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst (Remote) to join our Cengage Group Financial Data Analytics team, providing the financial and related operational support for Cengage Group. This position performs reporting and analysis for our subscription business, royalty expense, royalty payments and providing Ad Hoc analysis and reports and helping to support strategic planning.

To be successful in this role, you should have proven interpersonal skills with a track record of establishing collaborative business relationships with cross functional teams within an organization; the ability to lead and use large volume of data within analyzes along with using existing resources to problem solve; and have effective communication skills to work with all levels of management and staff.

This is a full-time remote position that can be located anywhere in the US with a preference for someone in Central or Eastern time zones.

What You'll Do Here:

  • Complete investment analysis to execute on business strategies

  • Allocate revenue for royalty payments for our subscription business

  • Analyzes monthly royalty expense results for Senior Leadership

  • Builds ad-hoc analysis reports for distribution to our partners

  • Ensures accuracy of monthly royalty payments

  • Supports the product team by compiling financial information to provide guidance and oversight on profitability of agreements with our partners

  • Develops relationships with the Product Organization and Finance Leadership

  • Participates in ad-hoc reporting, initiatives and analysis

  • Assists in maintaining data integrity within multiple systems

  • Investigates discrepancies and provides recommendations

Skills You Will Need Here:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in the Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Data Analysis; MBA a plus

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Sophisticated Microsoft Excel skills

  • Adapts well to fast-pace environment and rapidly changing priorities and activities

  • Exhibits initiative and ability to work optimally and independently

  • Excellent detail-orientation with multitasking capabilities

  • Ability to contribute constructively in a team environment

  • Ability to communicate complex business information to a range of audiences

  • Ability to train/mentor others

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

  • Industry experience in publishing, software, or related content business

  • Minimum 2 years' work experience in financial planning or sales analysis/operations experience and in roles requiring problem solving/analytic skills, project management and presentation skills required

  • Demonstrated financial modeling knowledge and skills with strong analytical, quantitative, and problem- solving capabilities

  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats, ranging from leading finance and operational discussions to working with data to provide thoughtful analysis

  • Self-directed, self-motivated and demonstrated experience providing ideas and solutions to further business understanding

  • Must be tenacious, with the emotional intelligence to know when to advocate more and when to look for alternative approaches

  • Ability to listen and interpret the requirements of internal clients, plan accordingly and go above and beyond

  • Extremely well organized and objective oriented with dedicated work ethic

  • Exemplifies initiative, intelligence, and integrity in targeting continuous improvement

  • The ability to travel a few days a year

Base Pay Range

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.

$63,800.00 - $102,100.00 USD
