Responsibilities
The Patient Account Representative oversees charges input and billed to Medicare using online systems, claims verification and management, and related customer service for patients. Ensures that final claims are released with proof of audit from agencies. Is responsible for billing to all carriers.
Works with various payer sources to ensure timely receipt of information; Follows up as appropriate.
Bills final claims.
Corrects Medicare claims online as necessary.
Monitors aging claims and ensures timely processing.
Provides support and guidance to field associates.
Remains informed of divested community process.

Qualifications
Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED is required. Minimum of one year of related work experience is required. Previous Medicare online billing and Home Health experience is required. General knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, etc.) is required.

Management/Decision MakingMakes standard and routine decisions based on detailed guidelines with little independent judgment. Problems are generally solved with clear, detailed guidelines or by reporting them to a supervisor.
Knowledge and SkillsHas a basic level of skill and can follow written or verbal instructions. Has basic technical skills to complete a few repetitive and well-defined duties. Has a basic knowledge of the organization in order to answer basic questions. Strong communication and customer service skills. Effective interpersonal and organizational skills accompanied with the ability to work with a high level of volume and detail.
