General Summary: Reports to department leadership and is responsible for writing and submitting request for proposal (RFP) to national pharmaceutical and medical supply companies, receives reviews, and negotiates best bulk purchasing price for immunizations, supplies, and any other items that will benefit physician practices for bulk purchasing power. Coordinates and oversees the activities of the specific programs. Responsible as chairperson for the CHN Immunization and Med/Surg Product Committees. Monitors and maintains industry changes in administration and research and development of new immunizations based on Federal Drug Administration (FDA) releases. Educates and presents immunization data to physicians and Health System executives. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience, Education and Training Minimum: High school graduate or equivalent. Associates degree from an accredited college / university or equivalent professional training preferred. Experience in negotiating vendor supply contracts. Thorough understanding of the American Academy of Pediatrics Vaccination and Pediatric Preventive Care guidelines required. Must have knowledge of pricing structure and understanding of immunization process from early release of new drugs to final approval stage.
