FTI is looking for a full-time Defense Mission Decomposition Analyst to support the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (OUSD) Cyber Warfare Directorate. This is an opportunity to have a direct impact on the success of a high-profile DoD program with Congressional mandates for national security in cyber defense with respect to the direct impact of key assets on critical mission threads at the Combatant Command and Service Component levels.
Our ideal candidate will have Operations Research analysis experience within the DoD community working in support of operational and/or strategic level organizational, service component, or CCMD staffs. Candidates should have extensive experience in advanced data analysis techniques. The ability to demonstrate technical leadership and team building skills is important, and candidates should have experience informing executive-level decisions with timely, accurate data analysis. Candidates must also be curious and flexible in order to integrate new ideas into a fluid operating environment.

Employ Operations Research techniques to conduct complex analysis and determine impacts of weighted interdependencies on operational mission readiness in real time - supporting simulated or real-world situations.
Provide analytical support to the four primary functions of the Mission Decomposition project:
Gather Information: Collect, organize and analyze large amounts of operational military information from USG sources related to Critical Mission Tasks; Capabilities and Functions; and Assets (Systems, Weapons, People, Installations, Infrastructure)
Enrich Information: Ensure information is compatible with software to establish an environment for interdependency analysis; manipulate data as needed to ensure compatibility.
Analyze Information: Conduct interdependency analysis between critical mission tasks and key assets to determine impacts on mission readiness based on calculated degradation to crucial system components.
Report Information: Convey clear, concise results to teammates, supervisors, customers and clients based on quantitative analysis.
Perform daily functions to support the key tasks of the Mission Decomposition projects:
Data Collection

Learn, Incorporate and Adjust Existing Analysis Software Platforms
Develop and Manipulate Models using Technology
Determine Impacts to Military Mission Readiness
Report Qualitative Results based on Quantitative Analysis
Operate as part of a small team to develop a new Department of Defense (DoD) project life cycle that yields quantified -Mission Resiliency- deliverables to Combatant Commands at an operational and tactical level
Collect, organize and manage large amounts of information on Mission Essential Tasks (METs), Key Operational Information (OPLANs, Campaign Plans, etc.), Critical Assets, and Interdependency Metrics to analyze connections between resource capabilities and risk to operational and enduring mission requirements
Build relationships and network with multiple Military and Government organizations
Career-development professional within field
Proficiency in discipline with a desire for continued development
Conduct work assignments of increasing complexity
Education/Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Expertise with Operations Research Analysis functions; For example:
Mathematical Modeling
Data Collection and Database Management
Military Decision Point Analysis
Transforming Complex Analysis into Executive-level Decision Support
10+ years of experience working in or in support of military organizations at the operational or strategic levels
Experience in Coordinating Meetings with groups of Diverse Backgrounds
Experience in Leading Teams to meet Timelines and Deliverables
Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite software
Bachelors (required) Masters (preferred) degree in a STEM-related field
Active Top Secret for Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Clearance
Additional Qualifications
Experience with Data Analysis Software (R, Python, SAS, etc.)
Experience working on or with Combatant Command (CCMD) Level Staffs
Experience in Cyber-related Operations, Information Management, or Analysis
Experience with Strategic Planning - specifically related to Campaign Plans and War Plans
Experience operating in the Space Operations Domain
Experience with the Joint Operations Planning Process (JOPP), Joint Planning and Execution Services (JPES), Adaptive Planning and Execution System (APEX), and/or Joint Operations Planning and Education System (JOPES)
Experience with the Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS), Mission Essential Task (MET) Development, Mission Assurance Decision Support System (MADSS), and/or Strategic Mission Assurance Data System (SMADS)
