Summary You will serve as a Materials Handler in the Supply Management Department, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Management Branch of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SAN DIEGO. Responsibilities You will be responsible for a wide range of warehousing activities, including receiving, processing, issuing, storing, and accountability and control of Authorized Users List (AUL) maintenance. You will unload, receive, and process incoming hazardous material received. You will segregate and assemble items into groups based on information received from technical personnel or data shown on receiving documentation. You will ensure proper Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is on file for all material. You will inspect excess material turned in by activities and make determination of material disposition. You will complete Navy shelf-life management actions to maintain fresh inventory. You will review and complete paperwork and/or documentation to complete warehousing transactions. The Screen-out Element for this position is the ability to perform the duties of a WG-06 Materials Handler as demonstrated by experience working under normal supervision performing a wide range of warehousing activities; receiving, issuing, storage, and accountability and control of Hazardous Material; unloading, stacking, storing, rotating, marking, and issuing stock in accordance with standard and special warehousing procedures applicable to hazardous material (HAZMAT); ensuring proper storage of HAZMAT; verifying and/or preparing documentation manually or electronically for all material transactions; operating various materials Handling including equipment including forklifts; reading and understanding Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
