As an Associate IT Analyst within Logistics Information Services division, you will assist in the development, support and maintenance of Server & Storage Solutions that are used to meet our customers order fulfillment demands. This role requires fast response times and collaboration with global peers to support these critical processes. In addition to Server & Storage solutions, this role will work closely with Network Administrators and other infrastructure workstreams to provide world class support to our PSLD customers and operations teams.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performing proactive monitoring, investigations, and support of various servers, virtualizations and storage solutions across Caterpillar PSLD facilities.

  • Assisting in development and maintenance of monitoring/logging solutions

  • Consulting and collaborating with IT infrastructure architects to implement technical solutions

  • Participating in IT infrastructure reviews to support continuous availability of server solutions at the site.

  • Performing testing of changes for server systems & components according to ITSM change management processes.

  • Supporting daily site usage of server systems by handling incoming incident tickets, collaborative MS teams communications and direct calls for issues related to server systems.

  • Working with local facility staff, Network Team, Cybersecurity Team, Site IT Contacts, Logistics Center Managers (LCMs), and other impacted subject matter experts to implement system enhancements and install servers.

  • Providing off-shift and weekend support for incidents and production migrations related to server infrastructure.

  • Maintaining compliance with IT Security guidelines and reduce/eliminate security vulnerabilities.

  • Troubleshooting and analyze issues to identify root cause with minimal guidance/instruction

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or 2 years of experience in IT Infrastructure.

  • Experience with Windows server or desktop operating systems

  • Understanding of Infrastructure Technologies such as DHCP, DNS, wired/wireless, IPv4, Active Directory, file sharing systems

  • Understanding of computing hardware - CPUs, memory, PCI cards, network adapters etc

  • Proven troubleshooting & analytical skills

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience with NetApp onTap operating system

  • Experience with Citrix Virtual Applications and Desktops (XenApp, Xen Desktop)

  • Experience with RedHat Linux

  • Knowledge of Azure or other cloud virtualization platforms

  • Knowledge of VMware environments and basic operations and monitoring of related virtual servers.

  • Server administration experience

  • Experience with following ITSM incident, change, and problem management procedures.

  • Planning and testing experience
