Overview

FTI is looking for someone to haelp our US Army customer develop a synthetic training environment for large scale military training exercises. You will be responsible for providing Information Systems architecture, and designs to the US Army Futures Command Synthetic Training Environment Cross Functional Team, assist with Training System Software / Information Systems-related Science &Technology activities in the STE CFT Technical Integration Facility, engaging with industry and academia to find STE IS applications for advanced technology for transfer into the Synthetic Training Environment. You will assist the senior technical staff with technical analysis of architecture of Training Simulation Software and any proposed industry solutions. You will help design and assist with assessment of prototypes provided by vendors. You will collect data from prototypes or product performance and analyse it to provide inputs and guidance for possible usage in the CSE training context. You wil collaborate closely with the Army Futures Command Capability Developers to examine, update and, where applicable, develop new STE operational IS architectures, mission threads and use cases.

Responsibilities

  • Create STE IS architecture activities, to include review of STE architectures and work with government engineers, contractors, and vendors to design STE IS architectures.

  • Perform engineering and scientific STE IS tasking that may cross organizational boundaries, such as work with CCDC SC STTC, PEO-STRI, and other external organizations to accomplish STE goals.

  • Implements designs of data driven assessment methodologies for Training System Software (TSS) and Training Management Tools (TMT).

  • Performs descriptive and analytical statistical analysis of STE IS data and provide interpretations of the output to senior leaders in a manner that is understandable to the non-technical audience.

  • Collaborate with external stake-holders to ensure mutually agreed upon STE IS goals and objectives are met.

  • Collaborates with STE CFT S&T division to assist with identification and prioritization of science and technology objectives, research items, and updates gaps in response to continuously evolving technology.

  • Represent the STE-CFT at professional conferences and colloquia for speaking engagements and panel attendance.

Education/Qualifications

  • Master's Degree (Engineering preferred) with a specialty in Military Modeling and Simulation.

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in Military Research and Development, S&T, or Military Systems Engineering.

  • Experience in R&D technology transfer.

  • Experienced success in data driven technology assessment, including the ability to design scientifically sound experimental protocols, collect data, analyze data and provide interpretations of the results.

  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with a wide spectrum of audience that spans industry to military senior leadership.
