Caterpillar's Energy & Transportation Purchasing division has an opening for a Supply Chain Performance Engineer . This position performs work on project teams involving material suppliers and business division Supply Chain personnel to increase supplier capability and proactively work future capacity gaps.
JOB DUTIES:
Work with the Supply Chain Performance Manager to deploy strategic assurance of supply initiatives and take a network-wide view of supply chain planning processes and tools.
Review and confirm accuracy of demand planning signals used within supplier capacity (RCCP Rough Cut Capacity Plan) assessments, conduct/validate/manage/track assessments, assess robustness of action items identified in assessments, and quantify the impact on incremental production based on completed actions.
Drive collaboration and communications across multiple functions, including but not limited to category managers, buyers, supply chain performance engineers, supplier development engineers.
Participates in lean events and works collaboratively with suppliers and multiple business division functions to address and resolve supplier issues using root cause and corrective action (RCCA).
Some Travel Required (Up to 25% working time)
Basic Qualifications:
College or university degree related to Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience, is required.
Solid supply chain planning, demand and orders, logistics and manufacturing knowledge
Working knowledge of Network Planning & Execution, Capacity Collaboration, PowerBI
High proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically MS Excel
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Experience in Global Purchasing, Material Requirements, Manufacturing or Supply Chain / Logistics is desired.
Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma project management and Lean supply chain principles
APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification highly desired.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service focus
Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures, especially those with supplier impact
