Ferguson is now seeking a Category Program Manager - Kitchen and Bath to build an intentional product strategy that aligns with business needs while growing sales and profitability!
Please Note: This role requires travel up to 15%.
Decision Making:
Develop product Business Cases with minimal management: Propose Business Case with approval.
Develop and present Product Category Reviews.
Collaborate with Own Brand on market price execution.
Vendor negotiation Strategy & Execution (Based on experience and Level).
New Branded Product Additions, Terminations & Promotions (Work with Businesses to Implement).
Strategic Field Communications.
Resolving associate and vendor issues.
Work with Product Development (Own Brand) on new product additions.
Make recommendation of promotional and year end tier buys.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Category Managers to develop and implement omni-channel product strategies within finished products. Define the product strategy, roadmap and create short term operational plans.
Ensure alignment and execution of the strategies with Customer Group.
Conduct research on potential finished product suppliers, promotions, and other industry trends and manage relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
Evaluate exclusive and license product opportunities.
Influence the strategic direction to improve vendor relationships, evaluate new products, and attend top vendor meetings.
Work with vendors on market price management and job pricing.
Assist in resolving escalated vendor-related problems (specifications, timing, quality, quantity, and delivery).
Assess external price trends and new product offerings to reduce purchasing costs by understanding cost drivers and develop buying strategies that improve margins while balancing working capital.
Conduct regular internal associate meetings.
Represent the organization to vendors, associates, and leadership as needed.
Interface directly with vendor sales team on new product introductions/promotions.
Exercise solid analytical skills and may manage minor vendor negotiations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field is preferred.
Prior experience in product merchandising.
Experience in Category/Product Management (online and brick and mortar).
Experience related to negotiating contracts, product sales, and/or purchasing.
Experience in developing category focused business plans.
Ability to analyze technical aspects and benefits of the product line.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to groups including executives.
Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
