As part of ITW's Automotive Segment, ITW Powertrain Plastics NA is committed to being a world leader in plastic components that simplify thermal management systems and enable improved vehicle energy efficiency. Our locations are headquartered in Glenview, IL with manufacturing in Hebron, IL; Juarez, MX; and Bryan, OH.
This role plays an integral role in the design and build of secondary equipment and process to ensure that ITW Tomco receives the most efficient manufacturing processes possible.
Address manufacturing issues that are causing production bottle necks, high scrap, or reduced efficiencies.
Review secondary equipment designs to ensure the equipment is built to the Manufacturing Engineering Guidelines, and that it is built in a maintainable and easy to use fashion.
Planning and execution of systems needed to smoothly bring new projects into production.
Focus on continuous improvement of the manufacturing process of plastic parts, and be willing to push for change.
Primary advisor on the selection of new secondary tool sources.
Develop strong working relationship between ITW Tomco and our secondary tool sources.
Responsible for adherence to the company quality and environmental policy, procedures and management systems.
Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and OH&S standards.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3+ years as a Manufacturing Engineer, preferably with an injection molding automotive supplier.
Experience with problem solving analysis processes and have the ability to lead problem solving teams.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are required to interface effectively with our customers, suppliers, and all levels of the organization.
Design, build and maintaining Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems and circuits.
PLC Programming experience with Allen Bradley Controls systems and HMI's, also familiarity with Vision Systems and Robotic programming and integration.
Computer skills with Microsoft Office Products and AutoCAD or 3D design software required.
