Job Description:
Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies Company, seeking an Supervisor, Quality Management.
In this role you have the authority and responsibility to effectively communicate and interface daily with company leaders, peers, direct reports, customers (internal and external) and all organizations within the company. You will be responsible and accountable for applying quality principles, technical knowledge and continuous improvement philosophies, leading and supporting the daily activities of the Quality team and cultivating a culture of quality both within the team and across the site. In addition, you will support the development and assist in maintaining a quality and mission assurance strategy to assure quality products meet customer requirements at the lowest cost.
Essential Functions:
Directly supervises hourly employees performing quality inspection duties:
50% - Reviews inspection and production schedules and manpower resources. Assigns and manages employees to maximize inspection objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements.
20% - Assures conformance to product specifications and workmanship standards.
20% - Participates in establishing and modifying inspection methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment and procedures.
5% - Maintains a variety of reports, records and inspection documentation to reflect schedules, performance and methods.
5% - Establishes training plans and assures appropriate training is delivered as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
Minimum of 2 years prior experience in a role centered on quality improvement or quality management.
Minimum of 2 years prior experience managing 5 or more employees.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Prior leadership/supervisory experience.
Experience with inspection equipment, CMM and attribute gauging.
Inspections (in process, 1st article, receiving inspections).
Experience with calibrations for calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection equipment to verify conformance to prints.
ISO-9001, AS-9100.
Reading of blueprints, data, manuals, QADs or other materials to determine specifications, procedures or instruments required for inspection.
