Supply Chain Planning Manager 1

Caterpillar's Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) located in Lafayette, IN is currently looking for a Supply Chain Planning Manager 1 . In this role you will be responsible for facility performance levels to targets for inventory reduction, increased inventory turns and improved order-to-delivery results.
Leads facility efforts to develop and implement the Plan for Every Part, Pull material Replenishment and improved throughput efficiency.
Leads facility efforts to implement and monitor compliance for supply chain processes aligned with the CPS Supply Chain Process Manual and the CPS Supply Chain Rules.
Provide leadership and governance amongst supply chain functional areas to deliver tools, processes, and expertise to enable material replenishment in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
This position works closely with all groups across the Order to Delivery (OTD) organization, as well as Global Transportation, Purchasing and Engineering partners. Responsible for building partnerships throughout the value chain in the deployment of lean, high quality, high velocity supply chain practices.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Provides strategic direction, plans and implementation of material replenishment methods.
Responsibility for the Plan For Every Part (PFEP) process and continuous improvement.
Responsible for inventory management for the facility. Includes developing business plans, analyzing results and driving improvements that ensure plans meet business needs. Responsible for inventory turns and levels.
Monitors Supply Chain metrics and initiates actions to drive improvements.
Responsible for Supply Chain system support across the organization. (MRC, MRP, Lognet, MESL, etc)
Leads supply chain team efforts to implement pull material replenishment where appropriate. Incumbent drives compliance to standard processes to determine Pull qualification and Pull readiness. This position requires advanced understanding of supply chain best practices, including operational efficiencies from the source of supply to the facility point of use.
Works with other supply chain functional areas to continuously improve material flow plans, focusing on improving inventory record accuracy, waste reduction and increased throughput efficiency, increased velocity and increased inventory turns
Leads efforts to identify and resolve facility supply chain constraints, which requires the ability to work across cross-functional areas and collaborate and negotiate complex solutions
Drives communications, root cause corrective action and ultimate resolution of supply chain constraints.
Key leadership role in the strategic direction and continuous improvement of supply chain planning processes and tools.
Provides leadership, coaching, focus, motivation and encouragement to direct reports. Responsible for coaching, developing and mentoring resources.
Responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of direct reports, including development, capability building and succession planning.
Basic Qualifications:
Four-year degree college degree AND 4 years of relevant work experience OR Two-year degree AND 6 years of relevant experience OR 8 years of relevant experience
Deep Expertise in Supply Chain principles, tools, and systems.
APICS, CPIM or CSPC National Certification highly desired.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills..
Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
Excellent teamwork and leadership skills.
Requires the ability to develop and deploy creative / original solutions to complex problems.
Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures, especially material replenishment, and supplier focused Caterpillar initiatives.
Top Candidates will also have:
Demonstrated ability to lead and meet objectives in accordance with Caterpillar's Values and Actions.
Effective motivational skills combined with a high level of initiative as demonstrated with prior team leadership.
Prior 6 Sigma leadership experience.
Experience in Supply Chain, Material Requirements, Logistics or Global Purchasing is highly desired.
