JOB SUMMARY:
The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing the overall digital marketing strategy. Provide strategic team leadership for the cat.com enterprise strategy including integrations with other digital platforms across the ecosystem; A/B and multi-variate testing; marketing automation; web content management; digital experience governance; Enterprise digital advertising platform management and Enterprise SEO. Develop long term digital roadmap and execute digital projects with business partners and Cat Digital.
JOB DUTIES:
Lead Digital with a focus on providing insights into growth opportunities both internally and externally, partnering closely with Cat Digital and other internal partners.
Provide strategic direction, governance, best practice creation and documentation, key performance indicator (KPI) definition and measurement, data analytics, and integration with other platforms to ensure seamless customer journeys in the Caterpillar digital space.
Manage a team of digital strategists, marketing automation specialists, web designers, content managers, digital marketers, search engine optimization specialists, and program managers responsible for creating strategies and corresponding multi-year roadmaps that provide solutions for enterprise digital marketing needs.
Develop rigorous, fact based, quantitative analysis to support recommendations, ensuring strategic and financial soundness and alignment for any recommendations.
Communicate recommendations to senior management, other executive, functional, or regional staff and management in a clear, concise, and impactful way.
Manage the staff and projects related to developing business and technical solutions and implementing common operating procedures to provide process functionality.
Recognize the service requirements/needs of dealers and customers, enterprise and business unit goals, and give leadership and direction to formulating global concepts, strategies and plans to deliver service solutions.
Innovate iteratively and leverage both internal and external business partners to best understand the needs of the business and ensure that tools are developed with the key stakeholder(s) in mind.
Oversee relationship and joint project management of industry marketing partners and CAT digital for Caterpillar Marketing and Brand organizations and initiatives.
Direct the global process for digital marketing campaigns. Provide leadership for regular and ad -hoc marketing reports.
Monitor actions of competition and the marketplace to act on new or expanded opportunities. Participate in market strategy development with various Caterpillar product and market groups. Identify need for independent market research when necessary.
Manage a team of primarily management/professional employees where some review of subordinate work is required as well as training, development and mentoring. The position is responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of subordinates, as well as overall employee satisfaction for the division.
The position has business ownership of cat.com and business and product ownership of catdealer.com.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor degree required and more than 10-12 years of progressively complex marketing and digital experience generally gained through staff and supervisory assignments in Marketing and/or Information Services.
Requires general understanding of basic business operations including the technical infrastructure and one or more of the following: general business processes, strong marketing acumen, business unit marketing experience and dealer processes.
The incumbent must have a strong customer focus, possess dealer and customer experience, knowledge of company products and product applications.
The incumbent must have ability to provide strategic direction for effectively managing staff, budgets, business plans, one-year project plans and developing 2-5 year plans.
The incumbent must have a proven track record of building cross-functional relationships, particularly with internal digital application, solutioning and engineering teams.
Requires ability to work with diversified departments within larger service centers and larger business units along with effective oral and written communications skills.
