Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty (PenFed Realty), a wholly owned subsidiary of PenFed Credit Union (PenFed), is hiring an Escrow Officer/Closing Attorney in Flower Mound, Texas. The primary purpose of this job is to provide operational, recruitment and administrative support to the Branch Manager and Sales Professionals of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty.
Responsibilities
Ensure title is opened correctly and all parties are aware that title is open and next steps.
Ensure that any contracts, EMD and Option funds are all received and receipted correctly.
Review title work evidence received to ensure that all requirements are met and/or will be met to provide clear and marketable title.
Work with Escrow Assistant to ensure that all documents are retrieved from 3rd party to include but not limited to: HOA, Payoff, Tax Certificate; Releases; Heirship information/affidavits; WD and other documents, etc.
Review closing package documentation to ensure all documents and information has been accurately executed and received for timely disbursement, in coordination with the settlement agent.
Process all signed documentation to ensure timely recording of all recordable documents, and package is sent back to lender/Credit Union for processing.
Ensure all funds are received and files are balanced. Disburse all payoffs, recording checks, and fee checks to ensure fully disbursed file on each case.
Review requirements and develop procedures for disbursement of all files.
Ensure all requirements for closing are met to maintain marketability.
Filing, scanning and another administrative task as needed.
Preparation of documents such as WD, heirship affidavits and any other legal document needed to complete the closing.
Provide legal guidance on closing and clearance items, as required by items needed to close transaction and provide clear and marketable title.
Maintain book of business and assist in business development, as needed.
Supervise Escrow Assistants on staff by providing leadership, training and all items required by HR (payroll and performance management).
Qualifications
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience that provide necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions.
Minimum of five (5) years of Title Experience required, knowledge of settlement statement and processing (end to end title closing).
Strong knowledge of post closing files for transactions in assigned locations.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel applications and settlement software, RamQuest One.
Ability to work effectively under aggressive deadlines required.
Good customer services skill required
Willingness to interact with clients via email, phone and in person.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will supervise employees.
Licenses and Certifications
Escrow agent licnese for the assigned area
Active notary with the state of Texas
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds. *
Travel
Limited travel to various worksites is required.
