Drive continuous improvement in lean manufacturing operations.Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Development and implementation of improvements related to safety, quality, service, and cost (productivity)Driving cost and productivity improvements by leading Lean Six Sigma projects with a variety of toolsets, including: DMAIC, standard work development, tier reviews and kaizensDevelopment and implementation of cross-functional projects, plans, and programs in support of business and strategic plans new process start-ups, new process technology integration, aggressive cost reduction, and supply chain improvement using Lean Six Sigma toolsProactively communicates project direction and status to appropriate personnelEngagement and involvement in daily operations to meet service targets, including direction/support of maintenance and division engineering activitiesRealize growth opportunities by guiding new product introduction efforts and completing experimental runsRepresenting 3M Springfield Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division (IATD) during internal and external customer interactions and auditsYour Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher in a Science or Engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institutionAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Master's degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institutionTwo (2) years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment (private, public, government or military)Demonstrated project leadership abilities on highly technical and complex projectsAbility to lead and contribute across a multi-disciplinary teamExperience in supporting new product development and commercializationExcellent problem solving and analytical skillsExperience in Lean Six Sigma/Quality ImprovementExcellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)Microsoft Office proficient, Minitab a plusFive (5) years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment (private, public, government or military)Travel: May include up to up to 10%Relocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.U.S. Export Control laws and U.S. Government Department of Defense contracts and sub-contracts impose certain restrictions on com
