Digital Architect, Aerospace Systems

KBR is seeking a highly motivated self-starter, adaptable to a senior leadership environment as a Digital Architect supporting the Aerospace Systems Engineering Division, headquartered in Beavercreek OH, and its US Defense technology and business portfolio spanning the US. Our new Digital Architect will provide technology strategy consulting, recommend technology solutions for KBR and its clients, and lead implementation for key projects. By harnessing evolving digital technologies to move KBR forward into new capabilities, our new Digital Architect will enable the US Air Force and Navy to maintain superiority in diverse missions and mission support areas.

Position Description:

Analyzes potential courses of action and develops solution recommendations for KBR's Director of Aerospace Systems Engineering (ASE), as well as client-facing Operating Units within ASE, and senior leaders within KBR Global Solutions US (GSUS) business unit. Advises and recommend business and technology strategies to position KBR for growth. Develops internal processes, digital tools and infrastructure, and workforce training and development to fully implement digital materiel management and digital systems engineering for KBR and its DoD clients. Provides subject matter expertise to ASE's Operating Units and client-facing teams as required, enabling them to deliver advanced technology solutions. Continually assesses evolving state-of-the-art technologies and best practices relevant to KBR and its DoD clients. Develops realistic plans to identify and deploy technology tools and processes, and develops strategies to train and develop our workforce in the digital engineering environment. Develops and grows relationships between KBR and current and prospective client organizations, as well as industry partners, universities, and professional organizations. Directly execute and manage projects including internal technology infrastructure, marketable technology solutions, and internal research and development.

Required Experience:

  • At least 20 years of experience is required with increasing scope and levels of responsibility, demonstrating successful evolving leadership in relevant Defense-related technologies and missions

  • Experience applying and managing digital technologies and tools to accelerate the development of advanced platforms from both a technology and business perspective. Digital technologies in this context includes digital engineering, digital materiel management, modeling & simulation, and data management in a DoD context.

  • Experience engaging directly with senior leaders in Government and industry, and experience developing persuasive recommendations based on data, modeling, and analysis.

  • Experience leading and integrating diverse teams of engineers, analysts, business functional experts (cost, finance, project managers, contracts), and subject matter experts in DoD operations

  • Ability to travel occasionally (approximately six trips per year, 3-5 days per trip), typically within the continental United States.

Required Education: Master of Science (MSc) in a related technical field such as engineering, science, operations research, or math

Security Clearance Requirement: Secret. Current Top Secret is highly desired.
