The Audio-Visual Senior Design Engineer will be part of a dynamic team supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA) at the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) in Arlington, VA. SERCO supports the Defense Health Agency (DHA) and is looking for an Audio-Visual (AV) Senior Design Engineer to support our Media Integration Division. This opportunity seeks an individual interested in professional development and will complement a telecommunications design, engineering, installation, and sustainment team.
You will be part of a 8+ person team that works closely with the customer, Serco teammates and other partners to deliver effective communications capability. This is an existing opportunity, and you will be joining an experience team that is firing on all cylinders.
In the Audio-Visual Senior Design Engineer role, you will:
Gather customer requirements and design audio-visual systems based on customers' needs
Prepares drawings and rack wiring diagrams for each system
Creates Bill of Materials for every design
Lead a team of engineers during the installation and maintenance of audio-visual products and components as specified by blueprints and to specifications
Assist during commissioning of audio-visual systems including AV racks, VTC's, projectors, video wall and flat panel screens as well as other audio-visual equipment including, but not limited to, cabling, fiber optics, racking and mounting audio-visual devices and control units
Load and configure AMX, Biamp and Crestron control systems (not programming)
Provide Quality Control and oversight for the installations and maintenance
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have the following:
An active DoD Secret Clearance
An associate degree in related field
Experience functioning as a Program/Project Manager
Minimum of 10 years of experience related to general audio-video systems design to include: command-operations centers, conference rooms, and training-classrooms
Minimum of 10 years installing, troubleshooting, and commissioning audio-visual equipment including, video walls, flat screens, speakers, microphones, racking, AV cabling and wiring
Expert-level designing and interpreting audio-visual systems
Knowledge of loading and troubleshooting Planar, Christie, Crestron, Extron, AMX and Jupiter
Knowledge of Video Teleconferencing technologies
Advanced configuration of Biamp audio systems required (not programming)
Ability to read CAD generated prints and use Microsoft Visio for designing AV systems
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to do advanced troubleshooting on any device
Basic understanding of networking
The ability to lift 50-60 lbs., climb, crawl, and raise items overhead
Desired qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Certifications in industry-relevant technologies such as Crestron, AMX, Biamp and Extron
CTS or CTS-i certification
