The Financial Analyst II is responsible to the Vice President of Finance for analysis in areas of daily treasury activities, investment portfolio reporting, liquidity and cash reporting, and loan participations support. Such analyses performed will encompass financial and other quantitative measures.
Responsible and Accountable for:
Works with senior leaders to provide financial and technical analysis, ensuring that analysis for the enterprise is delivered with timeliness and accuracy for ALM Committee, liquidity management, investment reporting and treasury management activities.
Supports department in the execution of the annual budget and monthly forecasting.
Develops, maintains, and provides support for internal and external financial reporting using Axiom FP&A, Excel, or PowerBI to include: Board of Directors reporting, Investment reporting, Liquidity reporting, Profitability reporting, and External financial reporting, including NCUA call report filings.
Manages Cash Transportation Services and monitors Vault Cash to support Branch/ATM/ITM network.
Reports daily cash activity and initiates cash transfers as needed.
Provides ad hoc financial performance analysis.
Assists in Correspondent Banking support.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of financial analysis, modeling, systems and reporting required for financial institutions
Experience in preparation of financial statements related to financial institutions
Ability to interpret financial information as it relates to financial institutions
Possess an excellent analytical, strategic and financial acumen; with the ability to anticipate issues and aggressively drive initiatives to achieve results
Strong time management, interpersonal, analytical, project management, presentation and verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate and present effectively and persuasively with staff, executive management and external business partners
High degree of accuracy with attention to detail, strong drive and a proven ability to work independently
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Banking Analytical software.
Knowledge of data analytics, aggregation, and querying using internal data warehouse.
Finance Systems & Processes - Demonstrated knowledge of financial systems and processes throughout the organization. Leverages that knowledge to fulfill business responsibilities.
Proven ability to handle multiple high priority demands to achieve optimal efficiency and productivity.
Ability to think strategically, draw logical conclusions and exercise decisiveness.
Possess a mix of integrative thinking, technical skills and leadership presence, and development skills
Willing to travel as needed
Educationand Experience:
Education: BS degree in Finance/Accounting
Experience: 4+ years recent proven financial analysis experience in a mid-sized bank or credit union environment ($3B to $5B in assets)
