Overview:
The Systems Analyst will design and specify information systems solutions while providing technical direction in the development of applications. This role requires a balance of analytical and technical skills to address both basic and complex challenges. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in major application modifications and ensure solutions are technologically sound.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive systems analysis, design, and development for a range of projects.
Serve as an individual contributor on complex initiatives, maintaining a deep understanding of supported applications.
Direct and oversee less experienced resources while coordinating development tasks.
Manage the technical aspects of project plans, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
Collaborate with Development, Operations, and Technology teams throughout the systems development lifecycle, from technical analysis to user acceptance testing.
Prepare and execute detailed test plans and debugging processes.
Analyze complex interrelationships among applications and provide consulting to enhance business strategies through technology.
Draft clear technical and functional specifications, including charts and diagrams to analyze issues.
Maintain documentation and review materials prepared by junior staff.
Propose new technologies and processes to optimize operations and address deficiencies.
Promote adherence to development standards and best practices.
Engage with business functions to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Understand and manage risk-related issues in accordance with company policies.
Foster a diverse environment that reflects the company brand.
Complete additional related duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:
The position operates under the supervision of the Technology Team Lead and is expected to work independently on high-level systems analysis. The role includes managing project activities and performance of team members, interacting with senior management, clients, and vendors. The candidate may also serve as a technical representative in various projects and committees.
Education and Experience Required:
Minimum of an Associate's degree and 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience, or a combined minimum of 7 years of higher education and/or work experience with at least 5 years in systems analysis/application development.
Familiarity with application development software and hardware platforms.
Proficiency in personal computers and relevant project management, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Excellent problem-solving skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience in coordinating between applications and business units.
Education and Experience Preferred:
Understanding of the Bank's application framework.
Subject matter expertise in the relevant business area and supported applications.
Advanced knowledge of interfacing applications.
Ability to work effectively both in teams and independently.
Proactive and action-oriented approach to projects.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
