Job Description:
Performs a variety of duties in the electronic and electromechanical areas; This includes use of manual and automated test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, frequency counters, etc.), for production and product development. Record test data, maintain test data file system, shop routing documentation and accept/reject data for production and engineering units. Perform troubleshooting and failure analysis on electronic circuits and assemblies.
Essential Functions:
Sets up test equipment and conducts tests of production assemblies and units following methods, procedures, standards, and sequences.
Uses electronic test and measurement equipment in performing job duties.
Assist technicians and engineers as directed.
Constructs, troubleshoots, tests, and maintains electronic and electromechanical measuring and indicating instruments, devices, or systems as needed.
Corrects malfunctions by adjusting or replacing parts or components as directed.
Maintains engineering specifications and other related technical records. Compiles and classifies data to existing information as requested by the engineering department.
Performs other job duties as directed.
Create Cable drawings
Build / Test cables
Solder surface mount, through-hole components, and wiring as required.
Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Experience with electronic test and measurment equipment and troubleshooting
Experience constructing and reparing cable harnesses
Experience reading and working from electrical and mechanical schematics
Preferred Additional Skills:
Excellent excel background; formula / macro writing / pivot tables
Soldering experience
Electronic troubleshooting
Good mechanical aptitude
Cable design / build experience
Software writing experiences
