As a Warehouse Team Lead at Caterpillar, you will help to lead team members, coordinate and delegate workflow as well as oversee day to day operations. As a team lead, you will be expected to support a culture of inclusion and development within your team. You will promote team relationships, establish team priorities, gather metrics and oversee work for multiple job groups.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Oversee management of inventory (FIFO)
Accountable for tracking quality metrics and meeting Safety, Quality, and Velocity goals in work group
Lead investigations on customer reported defects, including internal logistics customers
Operate heavy equipment, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts and overhead cranes
Perform material handling and warehousing functions as required
Work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work OT when required
Demonstrating safety excellence and enforcing safety policies and procedures
-Assist with on-the-job training for newly hired warehouse associates
-Be a liaison between team members and team supervisor to aide in answering team member on the job questions/concerns.
Essential Job Functions:
Occasionally lift parts up to 50 pounds individually or 70 pound as team lift
Occasional bending, reaching and squatting while performing tasks
Consistent usage of required PPE for task being performed
Work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures
Standing and/or sitting at a desk while performing tasks
Required Qualifications may include, but are not limited to:
- At least one year of employee training or team management experience (preference is in a manufacturing or logistics operation)
Experience with growth & development of team members
Demonstrated Lean Manufacturing experience
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Demonstrated proficiency in mathematical and analytical skills
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power point, and Access
Good attendance record
Ability to maintain accurate and complete records
Physical Requirements:
. Must be able to frequently lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 pounds for intervals of 15-30 minutes
. Work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures
. Walk, squat, and bend over for intervals of 15-30 minutes, be able to climb stairs, reach overhead and stand for long periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
. Willingness to be trained with pneumatic tools
. Willingness to be trained on forklift, cherry pickers, etc.
