Job Description

The Teen PEP Trainer works to recruit and train youth from participating schools on topics covered in the Teen PEP Program curriculum across Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. The Teen PEP program is based on a hybrid, violence and abuse prevention curriculum developed and based off of two evidence based curricula, Safe Dates and Expect Respect. At the direction of the Program Manager/Project Director, the trainer participates with evaluation efforts and also plays a key role in promoting the program through various social media campaigns that further the violence prevention efforts with youth leaders in each school. Other duties include, but are not limited to:

Trains youth leaders with fidelity to program curriculum, as well as adhering to public health violence prevention best practices, applying cultural competency and developmentally appropriate training strategies with youth from a variety of demographics Schedules and conducts weekly individual small group trainings in assigned area schools Monitors and supports all program sponsored youth led presentations in participating schools, conducting data collection for continuous quality improvement and outcome evaluation purposes Assists Program Manager/Project Director in the revising and updating of the Teen PEP curriculum, in accordance with research and best practice standards

Grant funded one (1) year position Bachelor's degree in Education or Public Health related field required Requires experience in peer education; Teen PEP leadership training preferred Must have demonstrated leadership ability and cultural competency in youth programming and violence prevention Must possess excellent communication and writing skills
