We are hiring a full-time Senior Technical Writer to support the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (OUSD) Acquisition and Sustainment (A&S) Cyber Warfare Directorate. This is an opportunity to have a direct impact on the success of a high-profile DoD program with Congressional mandates for the national security of DoD systems. In this role, you will collaborate on requirements with Cyber Security peers and government counterparts. This is an excellent opportunity to develop and lead your own team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop material with special consideration to document flow, clarity, conciseness, style, grammar, and terminology.

  • Review, edit, update, and finalize customized Cyber technical documents and reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), RMF documentation, user guides, policy documents, and white papers.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, cybersecurity analysts, and government customers to determine areas of documentation that need revision and updating.

  • Prepare documentation may include participating in or leading stakeholder meetings to gather information.

  • Ensure writing assignments are in accordance with DoD style guides and standards.

  • Create and maintain in-house style guide.

  • Develop document process flow procedures and documentation.

  • Develop standardized formats for documenting various types of technical information.

  • Supervise and mentor junior team members.

  • Travel up to 10%.

Education/Qualifications

Required:

  • Active Dept. of Defense TS/SCI clearance.

  • BA in English, writing, communications, or related field is required.

  • 15+ years of technical writing experience.

  • Knowledge of fundamental RMF artifact production as well as RF, offensive, and defensive cyber terminology.

  • Ability to accurately translate technical information for a general audience.

  • Experience handling various levels of classified data and appropriate classification marking practices.

    Preferred:

  • MA in technical writing.

  • Technical Writers/MS Office certifications.

  • DoD 8140 Certification such as CompTIA Security+.
