Operations Team Member V
General Description: The position requires expert work skills and familiarity with the assembly and repair of all 3400 engine products and configurations. The position is challenged to quickly and correctly identify problems. The incumbent generally resolves issues by following departmental guidelines and standard work or making changes based on root cause corrective actions. This position will -float- to work in any area on the engine production line, test, repair or NOPS, as needed, to meet daily production requirements.
Responsibilities / accountabilities include, but not limited to the following:
-Candidate must be a full time Caterpillar Employee.
-5 or more years of engine mechanic experience in Test and NOPS/Repair.
-Main focus of the position is as the subject matter expert responsible for:
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving engine issues
Diagnostic Testing
Teaching other team members
Identifying RCCA's
-The candidate must be proficient in interpreting engineering and assembly drawings and have solid understanding of standard work instructions.
-Demonstrated proficiency using computer programs related to Test and assembly.
-Must be able to teach/test all engine configurations.
-Must be able to teach/perform complex mechanical repairs which include, but are not limited to valve adjustments, flow timing, trouble shoot timing calibration/oil pressure issues, and must be able to perform electrical testing.
-Must be able to teach/perform all aspects of quality, torque and assembly requirements for any part of the 3400 engine.
-Must have good communication skills to interface with various levels of staff and management.
-Must be willing to work an off-shift and overtime.
Desirable Qualifications
-1 year vocational program after high school or an equivalent on-the-job training program.
-Flexible to work overtime as required to meet customer demands
