Job Description:
Caterpillar is hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst is to support the Core Services Development Team in Construction Industries Services Division (CISD). This includes working across divisions within Construction Industries (BCP, GCI, EMD, EXD), and our partners in Cat Digital and the Distribution Services Divisions (DSD). You will undertake analysis of business problems with the purpose of providing insights to analysts and decision makers. This role includes participation in cross functional teams to address business issues. A portion of the role involves performing routine activities, as well as ad-hoc analysis to report results to CISD and department leadership.

JOB DUTIES:
Transform data into actionable insights to improve services growth, make timely decisions, and communicate effectively with internal teams.
Support data analysis and insights requests to better understand performance of services offered by dealers and CISD
Execute monthly reporting cycle for CI CVA results
Execute data analysis to support various groups in CISD Core Services Development
Use data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI to ensure the team can quickly grasp insights to help drive meaningful opportunities.
The employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time including ad-hoc analysis and reports.
Problems and issues faced by this position require careful evaluation and reference to a large number of data points. Position requires understanding and taking initiative with problems or situations that are unique or may significantly affect business results.
Travel required (5% - 15% of working time).
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required
1-2 years of professional experience utilizing quantitative analysis is required
Must be proficient with MS Office
Experience writing programs/queries with data analysis tools such as SAS, SQL, Python, Snowflake, or Alteryx
Excellent analytical skills are essential to interpret data to solve business issues & summarize results for stakeholders
Experience developing dashboards in visualization tools such as Tableau or Power Bi
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Ability to work on increasingly more complex assignments and will have demonstrated strong leadership, initiative, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively
Experiences with different types of database tools
Familiarity with Aftermarket analytics tools and data sources (OLGA, Jupiter, Lens, PSE, STU)
Ability to work independently
Must have ability to communicate effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as with customers
Project management experience
Aftermarket services understanding
Ability to switch between projects / tasks / requests quickly
Strong attention to detail in order to spot inaccuracies in coding or data
This position is ideally located in Chicago or Peoria, IL or Cary, NC, however remote work within the US will be considered as well.
