This Serco Hazardous Material Inspector position supports the Navy Expeditionary Medical Support Command and is responsible for the overall management of all Government Furnished Property/Material and ensure Contractor compliance with contract requirements. This individual will enhance product workflow by analyzing and developing logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory.
In this role, you will:
Provide direct operational support to the Navy Consolidated HAZMAT Reutilization and Inventory Management Program (CHRIMP).
Conduct HAZMAT locker inspections across multiple installations on a recurring basis to ensure adherence to Navy HAZMAT mandates.
Assess all onsite HAZMAT locations for storage operability validation, including determining that all cold storage/freezer HAZMAT storage areas are operating within specifications.
Assist with physical inventory, material data gathering, and SDS collection, while using HMIRS/FedLog in the completion of required N-ERP hazardous material data packages and processing of transactional data.
Manage the receipt of new HAZMAT into Navy ERP while generating a global stock number to assist with electronic tracking of inventory from cradle to grave.
Ensure that all HAZMAT is properly labeled according to DoD/Navy Regulations.
Segregate onsite HAZMAT from NON-HAZMAT items, and stores HAZMAT in properly designated spaces/equipment (Flammable lockers, Corrosive lockers, etc.)
Manages the onsite HAZMAT Team, conducting training in the storage and transportation of HAZMAT.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A high school diploma/GED.
8+ years' experience in any combination of inventory planning or control.
Experience and ability in Hazmat inventory and shelf-life management, and Automated Data Processing (ADP).
Must be a US Citizen: This position resides on a military installation or within a government facility which requires US Citizenship and the ability to qualify and maintain a Common Access Card.
3+ years' experience supervising at least 10 people doing similar or related type work on similar contracts, or on a project of comparable scope and magnitude.
Ability to complete a government approved shelf-life management training course.
Experience with database management systems, HMIRS/Fedlog and Navy ERP.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Additional desired and preferred experience & skills:
10+ years of experience in logistics planning.
A bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, engineering, or related science and/or experience with hazardous waste management and safety procedures.
HAZWOPER certification and Hazardous waste management certification. NRRT certified.
Training in hazardous material handling.
Working knowledge of operational characteristics of radiological equipment. Experience in the operation of radiation detection and measurement equipment.
Working knowledge of radiation standards and regulations.
Demonstrated ability to maintain mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment.
Previous experience working in a team-based environment.
CDL with hazmat endorsement.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card for the Military Installation at theCheatham Annex Naval Base where this positionresides on a military installation or within a government facility which requires US Citzenship.
