Description

Caterpillar has a vacancy for a Construction Industry NPI Team Leader / Product Manager to join the Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT) group, based in Peoria, Illinois. This is a permanent, full-time position. You will be responsible for managing current and future loading products (Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Track Type Loaders, etc.) for on-board machine controls systems and as well as data flows to off-board systems.

As an NPI Team Leader, you will have responsibility for complete product ownership, being the key contact point for decisions regarding product content and lifecycle management. You will proactively work with Caterpillar Excavation, Building Construction, Wheel Loader, and Track Type Loader Teams and with the Trimble Loading team, along with, user experience, engineering, IT, and product support groups across the CTCT, Caterpillar, and Trimble organizations.

Job Duties

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with Caterpillar Excavation, Building Construction, Wheel Loader, and Track Type Loader Teams, and the Trimble Loading team to obtain and define customer needs

  • Define and manage the CTCT portfolio of grade control loading products

  • Collaborate with other machine product groups and CTCT Product Managers build and manage the loading roadmaps

  • Manage a prioritized backlog of needs to develop a roadmap for delivery of grade control loading products

  • Develop market requirements and functional specifications which deliver prioritized customer value across grade control loading products

  • Define workflow, UX, and features for grade control loading products that add value for Caterpillar, Trimble, and end customers

  • Support Caterpillar and Trimble training and marketing content

  • Ensure software and system quality issues are prioritized and solved in a timely manner

  • Work with people from many different backgrounds and cultures, internally and externally

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant degree/ industry experience

  • 5+ years of product development, product management, or other relevant experience

Top Candidates will also have

  • 5+ years of experience in grade control/machine control

  • Thorough understanding of loading grade control workflows and loading applications

  • Experience with positioning and controls systems

  • Proficiency in leading projects across multiple groups to achieve required outcomes

  • Strong customer centric mindset, high initiative, results oriented, high level of interpersonal skills and an effective writer and oral communicator

The location for this position is Mossville, IL

Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.

This position will require up to 15% travel.
