Join Caterpillar's Earthmoving Supply Management Team as a Category Buyer and help shape our future by ensuring top-quality components for our earthmoving products. You'll be the key link between Caterpillar and our suppliers driving negotiations and securing critical components for drivechain, undercarriage, winches, and non-current parts, directly supporting North America facilities. You'll also support new product development by collaborating with design engineers on new part designs. This is your chance to make an impact and be part of a market-leading team!
What You Will Do:
Manage supplier relationships, focusing on quality, costs, and logistics
Oversee supplier onboarding/offboarding and maintain/create supplier agreements
Handle daily procurement tasks and supplier performance management
Collaborate on part-level products and process development through Collaborative Product and Process Development (CPPD)
Support new product development by working on supplier selection, product cost targets, and ensuring supplier readiness.
What You Have (Basic Qualifications):
4-year college or university degree OR relevant progressive experience in the following purchasing, logistics, manufacturing and/or engineering
Strong data analytics skills with experience in analyzing supplier performance and procurement data to drive decision-making. Experience in SAP/ERP or similar system.
Proven negotiation skills, with the ability to secure favorable terns with internal teams and external venders.
Experience in contract management, including drafting, reviewing and maintaining supplier and development agreements
Demonstrated expertise in supplier relationship management, fostering productive partnerships and ensuring alignment with business goals
Top Candidates Will Have :
Well-developed interpersonal skills in dealing with sensitive issues, developing others, and reaching consensus on specific actions.
Experience in leading teams, supplier, and customers to effective solutions.
Analytical, problem solving, and project leadership skills.
Professional certification in Purchasing and/or supply chain management.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams, stakeholders, and suppliers.
Experience with New Product Introductions (NPI), lean, & standard processes.

This position may require travel up to 25% of the time.
