What We're Looking For
Assists assigned department by performing engineering-related tasks including research, development, calculations, design and delivery on assigned project(s).
Primary Focus Will Include:
Participate in collection and analysis of data and preparation of satisfactory designs.
Responsible for drafting of plans and providing some direction to other drafting personnel in preparing design drawings.
Conduct investigative analyses toward completion of assigned design tasks, and direct preparation of design drawings and/or specifications.
Perform design calculations.
Perform and check quantity estimates.
Check calculations and drawings.
Perform specific short term design applications.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Previous Design Experience with Illinois Department of Transportation/Illinois Tollway/Chicago Department of Transportation

Essential Responsibilities:
Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
Supports the preparation and modification of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates.
Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
Supports engineering teams with various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.
Performs other duties as assigned
