KBR's Defense Systems Engineering, Naval Solutions Division is seeking a Mid-Level Automation Software Tester (Secret Clearance) to join our team. The successful candidate will be part of a talented software team that develops and maintains mission-critical applications. Responsibilities will primarily involve software testing, including writing and peer reviewing test cases and evaluating the software application(s), hardware testing, data validation, and automated testing. The successful candidate will be expected to utilize tools and follow processes that ensure high-quality software that successfully fulfills the stakeholder requirements is delivered.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design, develop, review, and execute test plans and procedures for mission-critical systems to ensure high-quality and performance. Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle in support of team objectives. Design tests that ensure the software is in compliance with specifications.

Validate releases of software components (services, user interface, etc.). Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies to improve test coverage and implement test automation. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to technical and non-technical personnel. Excellent communication, writing, and editing skills. Experience working in a team environment; Ability to work well with others and follow business processes. Ability to quickly learn and grasp software application requirements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Clearance & Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen. Must currently hold a DoD Secret Security Clearance or have the ability to obtain & maintain Secret Security Clearance.

  • Education & Experience: BS/BA degree and 5 years of experience as a software application tester, performing software test activities. 3 years of automated test experience. Additional experience is accepted in lieu of a BS degree (10+ years for those with a high school diploma, 8+ for those with an associate degree).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with Agile and SAFe software development methodology

  • Experience working in a software development environment, utilizing applications such as Azure DevOps, Telerik, Docker, Turbo on Windows, Virtual Machines/Desktops

  • Experience with test automation tools and techniques

  • Data Validation experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Teams

  • Military aviation background/knowledge/SME

This is a hybrid role, with occasional in-office time for test events, customer events, and meetings. The successful candidate will be expected to be at the Lexington Park office at least 3 days per week and will need to be available to commute to Patuxent River Naval Air Station regularly, sometimes with limited advance notice.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week

Compensation: $75,000-$92,000. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
