Overview

Frontier Technology Inc. is seeking a Team Lead for their corporate Information Technology group located in Dayton, OH. As the IT Team Lead, you will spearhead corporate IT initiatives, help plan and implement new projects, and guide other IT team members to achieve corporate goals. This is a unique opportunity where you will be both -hands-on- and available to help manage a wide array of data center hardware, software, and both on-prem and cloud hosted environments.

This role will report to the Vice President of IT for FTI. You will work closely together to streamline processes, establish IT strategy, tech selection, deployment, end-user support solutions & more. You will also partner with our operations developers, scientists, and programmers to provide platforms and solutions for FTI's new or emerging technology.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily IT operations consisting of Unified Threat Management hardware, HP switches, and vLAN segmentation, VMWare, on-prem data center with SAN and servers.

  • Lead a team of IT administrators, network analysts, and architects to ensure that IT delivery and support is second to none

  • Lead all aspects of the IT service management system

  • Guide the team towards consistency of service and meet requirements across a portfolio of technology projects and enhancements

  • Establish and maintain strong internal customer relationships, enabling the collaborative creation of roadmaps for execution, and maintenance of solution capability

  • Establish and build upon processes allowing for business prioritization, expectation setting, and predictable execution against committed priorities

  • Help define team and individual project goals, so they are clearly defined and measurable and oversee individual projects to completion

  • Modify and create disaster recovery procedures and conduct regular audits assessments

  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives

  • Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems

  • Negotiate and administer vendors contracts and service agreements

Education/Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT related field from accredited college is highly preferred, will consider those with equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the design, delivery, updating, administration, and/or operation of enterprise IT systems, networks, and environments

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Team Lead/Manager with direct report responsibilities

  • Strong technical knowledge of network hardware, switching/routing protocols, and operating systems

  • Strong technical knowledge of and experience with installing, upgrading, configuring, and deploying IT applications in an on-prem and cloud hosted hybrid environment

  • Ability to train and mentor more junior IT personnel

  • Knowledge of third-party auditing and cloud risk assessment methodologies

  • Strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills

  • Experience working with VMWare hosts and SAN environment

  • Knowledge of Windows Server administration

  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development

  • Must be highly self-motivated and directed

  • Assist with Active Directory, O365, SharePoint, MS Teams and Exchange.

  • Experience with Splunk, Fortinet, Sophos a plus

  • RHEL administration and networking experience a plus

  • Experience with DoD Government Cyber Security Risk Management principles, standards, and compliance a plus
