You will manage application user accounts, network rights and access to systems. You will Conduct research into application/system malfunctions. You will support other development personnel and field activity users by doing research, if necessary, using diagnostics, hardware/software monitoring equipment and performing code analysis on problem software modules. You will attend lectures, conferences and advanced training sessions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This position requires one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to the required experience demonstrating the four competencies above, this position also requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing system administration duties and requirements, specifically with regard to Windows Client Operating System environment (e.g. Windows 7 or later) that include the following: 1) Analyzing information to troubleshoot IT hardware and software program and application problems; 2) Planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware and software systems; 3) Performing system maintenance and refreshes and upgrades to include backups and restores; 4) Developing and maintaining documentation and procedures; 5) Implementing and maintaining configuration compliance with applicable Information Assurance Controls (e.g. STIGs, Security Patching, CTOs, etc); 6) Creating, modifying, maintaining user roles and permissions.
