As a dedicated Instructional Designer, you will design and develop curriculum for the Auto Physical Damage line of business. You will partner with business leaders and Learning Performance Consultants to gather and validate learning requirements (performance requirements, measures of success, terms, and conditions).
We offer a flexible work environment, working from the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, or Tampa, FL. OR We are also offering this position remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
Create learning objectives, storyboard or design documentation and learning approaches targeted to business goals and requirements.
Develop and manage timelines and achievements.
Ensure alignment with L&D objectives, business strategy, and our USAA mission.
Collaborate with internal business partners to validate that curriculum solutions align to business priorities and strategy for operational effectiveness.
Complete peer to peer reviews to ensure consistency, quality, and appropriate use of course content guidelines.
Develop tools and processes to measure effectiveness of curriculum solutions and learner performance to ensure solutions meet employee skill development requirements.
Collaborate with third party vendor team to lead and engage vendor relationships to provide appropriate learning solutions to specific audiences.
Synthesize analyses, identify root cause(s), and provide recommendations that influence business solutions.
Serve as a mentor and coach to peers and team members for assigned area of responsibility.
Serve as a resource to team members on raised issues of an unusual nature.
What you have:
Bachelor's degree: OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Minimum 6 years' progressive work experience in instructional design to include training industry experience and advanced knowledge of instructional design tools and methodologies.
Expert in instructional design methodologies with the ability to successfully translate these methodologies to the team.
Strong organizational skills, project management skills, multi-tasking, and project flexibility.
Ability to use communication and collaboration skills and instructional design technologies effectively to navigate the training environment.
Proficient experience with instructional authoring tools (i.e., Articulate Storyline 360) and other learning technologies.
What sets you apart:
Prior auto physical damage facilitation experience
2+ years' auto appraiser experience
6+ years' auto physical damage appraiser instructional design experience
4+ years' video and/or virtual reality content creation experience.
Prior experience integrating I-CAR into training programs
Experience with Articulate 360
Experience with Adobe Products (After Effects, Creative Cloud, etc.)
Current or previous military member and/or a military spouse

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $81,770.00 - $147,190.00 .
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
