If you like variety and want to expand your expertise outside of direct supply chain activities, this is the role for you! As a Supply Chain Planning Engineer with Mining Technology Enabled Solutions (MTES), you will not only be responsible for supporting business goals for assurance of supply; but will also support the Lifecycle and Change Control Managers. Assists Lifecycle Manager to implement the Plan for Every Part, improve throughput efficiency as well as analysis and execution of phase in/phase out activities. This position performs tactical work across multiple functions to implement the supply chain planning process in support of a Plan for Every part for the MTES product line. Along with supply chain and lifecycle management activities, this role will assist with engineering change control to minimize if not mitigate risk to our product related to engineering changes of our production products. The Supply Chain Planning Engineer must be able to work with multiple groups within the Caterpillar organization as well as external suppliers.
What you will do:
-Experience and knowledge of complex lean concepts and tools
-Experience and knowledge about CPS supply chain principles, specifically those applied to Supply Chain Planning analytical tools
-Strong understanding of common supply chain concepts
-Knowledge of and / or experience deploying using 6Sigma Project Management principles.
-Must possess leadership skills to effectively influence supply chain and engineering contacts
-Must possess strong collaborative, interpersonal and negotiation skills to drive common supply chain processes across multiple departments making the best use of available resources, maintaining strong customer focus while fulfilling the responsibilities for executing needed activities.
-Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to creatively solve complex problems.
-Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures and solid product knowledge
-Strong understanding of the Caterpillar service parts logistics environment, processes, and tools
-Understanding of engineering bill of materials
-Understanding of product change management processes and risk analysis
-Knowledge of product lifecycle management phases and related activities
-APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification highly desired.

Value Selling : Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.
Degree and Experience Requirement:
College or university degree related to Supply Chain, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of supply chain job experience
Top Candidates will also have:
-Previous experience as a Supply Chain Planning Analyst or Engineer desired
-Experience in the development and deployment of Supply Chain processes
-MTES knowledge/experience is highly desired
-A background in Supply Chain, Manufacturing / Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Inventory Management, Material Requirements Planning, Demand Management and/or Logistics is highly desired.

This position will require 10% travel or less.
