Job Summary:

The Industrial Power Systems Division has an exciting opportunity for an Order-To-Delivery (OTD) Quality Associate. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of functions within operations quality. Your responsibilities include all duties pertaining to the inspection of engines, oil analysis, and recording quality inspection results to meet production requirements of Perkins Engines.

What you will do:

  • Ensure accurate counts on engines are recorded prior to any movements into or out of the finished goods inventory

  • Operate and maintain an environment that is safe and clean

  • Adhere to established standards, policies and procedures relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, attendance, quality of work life, IS09000 certification, and audits

  • Inspect every engine within takt time, following the check sheet

  • Add defects to QSI database and Excel spreadsheet and notify the section manager or team leader as needed

  • Will need to participate/coordinate in weekly Parts Data Interface (PDI) meetings

  • Will need to contribute to Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) analysis of the defects

  • Support engine documentation

  • Perform other duties as required

What you will have:

  • Proficient written and oral communication skills

  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Suite (i.e., Word and Excel)

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Reliable attendance

  • Willingness to work overtime when required

What would make you a top candidate:

  • Previous quality inspection experience

  • Previous diesel engine and/or machine inspection experience

  • Experience with 400 series engine assembly process

Shift

Monday-Thursday; 8:30PM - 7:00AM. Overtime as required.

What you will get:

  • $1500 sign-on bonus ($750 after 60 days and $750 after 120 days) -NOTE: Agency Employees not eligible

  • Payrate starting at $18 per hour

  • Additional pay for shift premium of 10% per hour for 3rd shift

  • 40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime

  • 80 hours of vacation with an additional 24 hours of paid personal time off (PTO)
