To enhance the overall value of the company with the implementation and adoption of Data Driven Decision Support through:
Leadership of an enterprise strategic data governance process
Leadership of an enterprise strategic data management team
Governance of the production of high quality, immutable data (Golden Records) on which critical decision support platforms can rely - Strategic Data
Governance of the strategic intelligence logic and platforms that produce all decision support information for the business
Driving the evolution and improvement of corporate decision making through new methods, technologies, logic, and concepts
To establish and govern Strategic Data as a Corporate Asset across the enterprise by
Facilitating organizational alignment with a data and information driven decision-making culture
Establishing and Maintaining Sponsorship and Support at all organizational levels
Implementation of long-term training and implementation programs for data and information literacy
To implement a clean, clear source of data on which future generations of AI can build new insights for the Enterprise and provide Strategic Decision Support Counsel to the Leadership of the Company
The Business Information Architect is responsible for providing the day to day leadership and management of sub teams and staff assigned to sub teams through which it executes its objectives:
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Functional Expertise:
Solutions Management
Provide key knowledge, insight, and informational guidance to all Southern Company Gas business operations in support of the day to day and strategic planning activities of the company
Gather, Manage, Analyze, Integrate & Translate Decision Support Needs into Executable Reports, Indices, KPI's or other means of information delivery
Produce & Manage all Decision Support Requirements Documentation & Models
Identify and Propose new indices, KPI's Reports or other Decision Support capabilities
Guide, Advise and Support other teams on implementation issues related to interpretation of requirements
QA, Test and Acceptance for all Decision Support Solutions
Management and Ownership of Decision Support Solutions Register (indices, KPI's, Reports) in production
Training and Change Management responsibilities
Functional Design
Provide critical data and information services and guidance to all Southern Company Gas business operations in support of day to day and strategic planning activities of the company
Gather, Manage, Analyze, Integrate & Translate Decision Support Requirements into an Enterprise Logical Data Model
Identify, Manage and Maintain Assignment and Ownership of Physical Sources for Logical Data Model Data
Manage, Design and Build Ongoing Changes & Enhancements to the Logical Data Model
Define and Design all Decision Support related Logic, Output, Rules, Error/Gap Management and Scoring Specifications
QA, Test and Acceptance for all Decision Support Extraction, Storage & Management Solutions
General
Provides and advises on cost and resource estimates and plans used in the annual budget cycles
Leads EDGE Project related assignments as required
Coordinates with the TO to identify approaches and solutions to complex architectural problems related to the supporting EDGE solutions platforms
Demonstrates extensive knowledge of the business information requirements, day to day business processes and overall business data flows related to one or more of the following key business areas:
Financial
Organizational
Operations and Supply Chain
Enterprise Asset Lifecycle Management
Customer, Marketing and Revenue Management
Corporate and Regulatory
Demonstrates extensive knowledge of the business applications, data management flows and enabling technology platforms related to one or more of the following key solution areas:

Business Acumen:
Serves as lead for specific projects and assignments as required. Responsible for setting work priorities, assignments and managing related issues
Identifies inadequate or inefficient systems and recommends new alternatives that improve efficiency or provide new benefits to the organization
Anticipates and identifies obstacles that may put assigned projects or tasks at risk; develops approaches and implements solutions to mitigate risk
Develops, manages to and reports on work plans and milestones for assigned projects and day to day activities
Collaborates with the Technology Organization (TO) to abstract and organize the project specific reporting, analytics and information requirements implied or explicitly requested through the wider range of investment proposals put forward by the business and organized and collated by TO.
Evaluates and recommends on the selection of new tools and technology by staying current on business and solution architectural trends and emerging technologies to provide recommendations and direction to the TO in the development and delivery of solution strategy, platforms, and applications
Engagement:
Instructs, guides, and supervises the tasks and deliverables of their team members
Collaborates with other team leaders, TO and business managers to resolve complex business issues and problems
Develops and maintains productive working relationships with key business and TO managers and staff, as well as external solution and advisory vendor organizations
Driving Results:
Responsible for driving results, including setting expectations, prioritizing work, evaluating results, and taking corrective actions when required
Ensures internal controls and governance are achieved in compliance with policies and standards. Understands, executes with, and improves on all elements of delivery methodologies used in the day to day execution of their assigned projects, activities, and tasks
Monitors and oversees the development process deliverables as key interface to the TO on all EDGE Solution related Deliverables

Required:
8 years of experience in general utility operations, company policies, procedures and gas operations methods and standards
8 years of experience in business requirements, solutions design, and implementation processes
Thorough understanding of data and information governance processes, tools, and methodologies
General understanding of service-oriented architecture, cloud computing models, technical architecture, application development, middleware, database management and mobile computing
8 years of business requirements and solution design experience
Ability to deliver results in a cross functional team environment
Decisive, conceptual thinker who can assimilate and correlate a broad set of disparate ideas, perspectives, goals, and facts in defining solutions
Preferred:
10 years of solutions design and development in utility business applications, data warehousing, complex integration platforms or mobile first solutions development
Implementation leadership experience in Machine Learning, Robotic Process Automation and Natural Language Processing.
Specific Skills & Knowledge:

Advanced proficiency in MS Office Tools
Significant knowledge of business requirements and solutions design methodologies, tools, and approaches
Significant knowledge of graphical modeling approaches, tools, and repositories
Significant knowledge of Logical and Physical Data Modelling approaches, tools, and methodologies, and supporting software platforms
Must possess the skills to work with business process owners and TO architecture and delivery leadership
Experienced in providing information for project charters, approach or proof of concept documents, and functional and technical design documentation
Good working knowledge of the different components of an enterprise technical architecture
High impact individual with the ability to both challenge and advise senior business and TO leadership
Demonstrated ability to influence and foster collaborative relationships
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent work assignments
Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation
Good planning and organizational skills
