WSP is currently initiating a search for a Vice President, Transit and Rail Engineering for our Capital Area offices: Baltimore, Herndon, Richmond, VA and Washington, DC offices. The Capital Area Transit and Rail Group manages and works on various bus, rail, and paratransit planning, engineering design and program management projects throughout Maryland, DC, Virginia, and West Virginia. The right candidate will support in growing WSP's transit and rail market share with a special focus on clients in the Capital Area.

Your Impact
Support Capital Area transit and rail services
Help grow WSP's market share of Capital Area transit and rail services
Strategic Business Development along with Client Interaction
Project Management, Budgeting, Scheduling of Construction Documents
Hiring Full Range of Staff as needed
Become a key partner to WSP's local and national transportation planning and design staff
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's and Master's of Science in Engineering
Professional Engineer
15+ years of transportation design and management experience and be capable of effectively leading tasks and staff
Strong knowledge of local clients and/or agency work (Amtrak, DRPT, MD MTA, VRE, VPRA, HRT, GRTC, WMATA, etc.)
Knowledgeable in alternate delivery as well as local contractors
Strong knowledge in AutoCad, Microstation, Revit, and the development of construction documents;
Self-starter, able to work independently, able to multi-task and can handle varied projects across varied disciplines;
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications
Master's of Business Administration
Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
Prior experience with intercity or commuter rail projects#LI-MC4
