Job Description:

The Technical Writer Specialist will be responsible for logistics product data tables for an Engineering Design Model program. The candidate will perform moderately complex engineering analysis and database management tasks. This position will work as a part of a project or task team. The Technical Writer Specialist must be able to utilize database software including SLICwave and experience with the S1000D Data Module Generation capability within the SLICwave software.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight.

  • Subject Matter Expert on SLICwave S1000D Data Module Generation

  • Produce various Logistics Product Data tables as needed for various customer deliverables.

  • Communicate within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures.

  • Effective oral and verbal communications.

  • Extensive use of Microsoft office applications i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, Word (Development of forms).

  • Technical writing.

  • Analytical, problem solving, and writing skills.

  • Resourceful and responsible if tasked to work alone.

    Qualifications:

  • Requires proficient knowledge of job area typically obtained by a combination of education and experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years of logistics and data base management experience.

  • Graduate Degree and two (2) years of logistics and data base management experience.

  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of eight (8) years of logistics and data base management experience.

  • Secret Clearance at the time of hire.

  • One (1) year or more of S1000D experience and SLICwave experience.

  • Must be a US Citizen.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Exposure to Navy combat systems equipment or Engineering Design Model programs.

  • BA in Engineering or a technical discipline.

  • SQL experience.
