The ITW Innovation Center is looking for a creative, highly motivated individual to scope, manage, and research projects involving markets and technologies of strategic interest to ITW. The position will combine key findings from market and technology research into actionable information that can guide ITW's strategic decisions (investment, new product/platform development, acquisition, etc.) The successful candidate will utilize independent judgment within general parameters to determine and apply appropriate methods.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Works with business units to scope projects, collect strategic information, identify macro trends, analyze and segment markets and technologies, assess customer needs, and evaluate ITW growth opportunities.
Investigates market and technology trends, maturity, differentiation, and landscapes relevant to our business unit's growth initiative.
Create reports summarizing research efforts and presents to business stakeholders
Ensures the timely and efficient completion of multiple assignments to achieve overall business objectives.
Rapidly understand problems, evaluate ideas, recommend solutions, and work with business units to validate concepts.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree is required in a STEM major. An advanced degree in Engineering or an MBA is a plus
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience performing market/technology research
A results-oriented technical individual able to apply systematic processes, critical thinking, and sound judgment to complex issues
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAITS:
Experience in industrial, engineered products, or technical B2B setting
Experience with market analysis and segmentation
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear, concise manner to all levels of the organization in both written and oral formats
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
