Caterpillar's Construction Industries Services Division (CISD) is hiring a Lead Business Intelligence Analyst !

Role Definition: Respond to requests from CISD business partners to create new tools in Tableau or PowerBI, handle ad hoc reporting requests, and provide training support on the tools you build. This role will also provide technical leadership to more junior members of the team and assist with onboarding of new employees.

What You'll Do

  • Handle the complete development of new dashboards, including concept design, backend development, data validation, frontend visualization, and publication with proper security credentials

  • Work with various business partners to understand data needs and devise the appropriate solution whether that is a dashboard, a one-time report, an automated report, or something else

  • Be viewed as an expert within the team, leading a pod with technical advice and sharing your network to support the team's goals

  • Collaborate with the team to solve challenging problems and independently manage projects to meet expectations and deadlines from partners

  • Take an ownership role of the team's ticketing platform (Aha!)

  • Maintain effective internal communications across business partners

What You Have (Required Qualifications)

  • Expert level knowledge of Tableau or PowerBI

  • Highly proficient in SQL, Snowflake, python or Alteryx

  • Business data analysis skills to analyze data sets to identify insights and communicate findings to business partners

  • Accuracy and attention to detail skills used in reviewing logic between multiple sources to recognize anomalies and recommend corrective action

  • Effective communicator and autonomous worker - experience presenting to senior stakeholders and the ability to work productively with minimal supervision

Top Candidates Will Also Have

  • Extensive knowledge of Caterpillar data sources and access methods

  • Strong customer focus and awareness of company products and product applications/machine system

  • Proven track record of building cross-functional relationships with diversified departments

  • Proven success working in a complex matrix environment

  • Confidence to ask questions to gain clarity

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Experience in Digital, Aftermarket, Machines or Commercial related positions

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Additional Information:

  • The preferred location for this role is Peoria, IL. This role may also be located in Dallas, TX; Cary, NC; or Chicago, IL .

  • Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required.

  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for this role.
