Tanzu Application Platform (TAP) is VMware's multi-cloud application platform built on top of Kubernetes. With it, developers and operators can build and manage their Kubernetes infrastructure, packages, and cloud workloads quickly and securely with a rich set of developer tooling. In order to support our users, it is critical that the platform is secure by default.

You are going to be able to have a cross cutting impact across the whole platform, interacting with multiple teams and setting security standards for a large product development organization.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

As a security leader you will be working across teams driving initiatives for compliance, security improvements and risk management.

Some of the outcomes that are expected in the first year are:

Finalize a compliance roadmap and start delivering towards it with a focus on NIST 800-53.

Understand the security gaps of the product and work with the product management team to prioritize the remediation.

Establish a vulnerability reporting process and work with the leadership team to help them take risk management decisions.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

Drive cross-team technical tasks by building relationships across the product portfolio.

B uild a security and/or compliance practice with proven business outcomes in an enterprise environment.

Provide feedback and coaching of peers through security and design reviews.

Knowledge of common compliance frameworks like NIST 800-53, PCI, HIPAA.

Experience in building security policies and practices for containerized workloads, Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.

Where is this role located?

Remote: This role is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from the location you feel most productive and comfortable, or the location agreed upon with your hiring manager. You will be expected to live within a number of time zones from your team as defined by your business.
