JOB SUMMARY
This position has responsibility for providing leadership and oversight of crews while providing high quality, cost effective, and timely construction services and maintenance for the network underground electrical systems located within, Augusta and Athens. This position is accountable for constructing, coordinating, and maintaining schedules of assigned Network Underground projects serving High Profile Customers located within our service territory. Also, this position supports non-Network requests, such as -Hi-Reliable- Distribution systems, 46Kv transmission padmount transformer installations, unique Generating Plant service requests, etc. This position strongly supports Safety Excellence and ensures that Safety work plans are implemented and abided by. This position has responsibility for ~7 covered employees to ensure safe work practices, efficiency, quality of work, training, development, performance management and motivating crew personnel. This position will require the employee to be in an on-call rotation for statewide response. This position is responsible for the supervision of Network Underground construction and /or maintenance crews in Agusta. The reporting location for this position will be in Augusta and some travel to other areas on the electric system. The successful candidate must live within commuting distance of Augusta.

Install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair of Network Underground facilities and equipment including, but not limited to, network protectors, 4kV and 13.8kVswitchgear
Installing, maintaining, and repairing the Network Underground's SCADA equipment
Coordination between Georgia Power and our customers: New Service, Trouble restoration, Scheduled outages
Safe and effective response to emergency situations as they arise
Supporting the network system and underground distribution systems located throughout the State, both private and public.
24/7 Emergency response and on a callout rotation for statewide response
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)
High school diploma or equivalent
10 or more years of Network Underground experience is required
5 years Journeyman Cable Splicer or equivalent experience in cable construction/maintenance is required
Experience in the installation, testing, operation and troubleshooting of power systems required
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills that build effective relationships and establish trust with teammates and customers
Ability to analyze information and communicate a plan to resolve issues
Demonstrated leadership skills within Network Operations preferred
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects at same time and manage the workload distribution
Effective decision making
The candidate must know and understand the MOA, Southern Company Distribution Operation Procedures, Distribution Bulletins, Section -0-, Switching Procedure Handbook, and the Network Underground Safety & Work Procedures.
This candidate must have the ability to read electrical prints, troubleshoot equipment, make quick decisions safely and communicate the plan effectively.
Observing work on energized equipment in enclosed spaces is a requirement for the candidate who fills this position
PC skills and knowledge in Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc. are desired

This position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position:
- Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver's license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver's license).
- Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.
- Must consent to a continuous monitoring of your Motor Vehicle Record
