Caterpillar's Electrification & Energy Solutions (E+ES) Division will focus on delivering advanced electrified power train, zero-emissions products/technologies, and the solutions and services associated with these technologies. Focus areas include batteries, fuel cells, motors, inverters, micro grid controllers, charging, energy storage systems, lifecycle solutions/services and integration of components for ePowertrain solutions across industries.

The opportunity:

As a Senior Pricing Manager, you will work alongside the Commercial Manager and the wider pricing team to develop as-a-service and asset sale pricing strategies for defined segments and currencies. You will develop and manage new as-a-service customer commercial agreements and set-up a process to support and manage bespoke agreements. This will also involve measuring and reporting the on-going profitability of existing business to wider stakeholders.

This is a highly collaborative role, working with a global commercial team within Caterpillar, where you will be an integral part to ensuring customers are supported through the energy transition. You will be at the forefront of building solutions for cutting-edge technology for our customers.

What you will do:

  • Develop pricing strategies for products and services for specific business segments and currencies based on selected business models. (Energy-as-a-Service, Power Purchase Agreements)

  • Develop and apply customer agreements for specific business segments based on selected business models.

  • Continually improve customer agreements and pricing strategies based on targeted learning.

  • Lead deal teams to establish pricing and agreements for bespoke deals to support internal partners in specific business segments.

  • Monitor and track the performance of different products and agreements in specific segments, to make targeted recommendations to maintain profitable growth.

  • Support the delivery of component NPI programs as required including the development of new product and service requirements to support our commercial strategies.

What you have:

Pricing Competency: Knowledge of building as-a-service pricing strategies for associated electrification and electrified products and services. (EaaS, PPA's)

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of modelling and building service agreements for large enterprise customers.

  • Competent in developing pricing strategies for products and services.

  • Knowledge of building a subscription pricing model.

Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.

Level Expert Experience:

  • Leads in collecting and analyzing an organization's data requirements.

  • Develops data analysis risk-reduction strategies.

  • Contributes to and publishes internal documents on the results of the analyzed data.

  • Designs new data analysis tools to increase data processing effectiveness.

  • Predicts the directions and trends of data gathering and analysis in the market.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Level Expert Experience:

  • Effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence internally across the business.

  • Works to create a climate that values and rewards good oral and written communication.

  • Communicates effectively with diverse audiences, using appropriate media and language.

  • Ensures important messages are clearly understood.

  • Coaches others on methods of improving their own communications.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Evaluates past decisions for insights to improve decision-making process.

  • Assesses and validates decision options and predicts their potential impact.

  • Advises others in analyzing and synthesizing relevant data and assessing alternatives.

  • Uses effective decision-making approaches such as consultative, command, or consensus.

  • Ensures that assumptions and received wisdom are objectively analyzed in decisions .

Top candidates will also have:

  • Experience in electrification and electrified products and services.

  • Demonstrable experience developing as-a-service pricing strategies.

  • Degree in Business (Finance, Economics, Marketing) or Engineering.

  • This position is likely to require up to 20% travel for predominately internal meetings.
